Mother-
It has been a long time since I last said anything on a blog post to you, but I wanted you to know that your son is doing just great. Today I followed an ant for about 15 minutes in hope of finding where its home was, but it turns out that it didn't have one to go to...it walked off the edge of a wall and got lost in the gentle wind.
You might find that following an ant is kind of weird, but there was a story that I took from this...an analogy if you will. Sometimes in my life, I have chosen to follow ants- people who are focused on one task and don't realize that they have an entire world around them. As I follow these 'ants' in my life, they usually take me to just one point and once they arive to their destination, they go into a small hole and are never to be seen again. Mom, I can follow a small ant all my life and be left at the point where they take me, or I can fly with the birds and soar to places that only those who have a birds-eye-view have.
Being here has taught me how to find birds in my life to follow and not just ants. I am in a place right now where my view has been elevated and allowed me to see so much more- a view that has opened new vistas for my life and a view that is allowing me to see who I really am. Thanks for the bequethment of life and always helping me to find those who have had their wings spread wide.
your Antology was good. Question: what does following the "ants" have to do with being like an ant? Does it follow the saying: "If you want to fly with the eagles, don't hang out with the Turkeys?"
ReplyDeleteAwesome post bro...and loved the analogy...so true! It's hard not to become who you surround yourself with! You're so great Tay. I can't wait to talk to you!!
